Hi Lawrence

In 1990 census of names there were 12 PINTAKs in Poland.
www.herby.com.pl/herby in Polish and only distribution.
6 PINTAKs did come thru Ellis Island.

Thank you, that was useful. I found a few more arrivals on Ancestry and believe I found the arrival of the first in my tree. Would love to find a way to track it back further. His birth records show near what is now Kosice in Slovakia, so suspect it is probably the Transylvanian Saxon branch (village of Pintak in Romania) but would love to prove it. Are you same last name?

No PINTAK in my family tree.
Have you looked in LDS-Mormons website for the church records which you can order and gather ancestral information.
