| Preben: Re: Podmaniczky Family | Hi Alexander Podmaniczky,
I saw your inquery on Radix Forum.
I have some comments reagarding your family.
Do you have any knowledge of a Mr. Janos Podmaniczky de Aszod ?
He escaped in 1956 to Denmark, where he lived til he
died in spring 1973 in Copenhagen.
He was very interested in horses.
Unfortunately, I didn´t get to know him while he still
was alive, I´m sure he had many stories around horsematters
in Hungary to tell. I discovered him in an old danish
horsemagazine from 1962. And by accident during my research
i found out that he was moved to Copenhagen, and I got
to the Mayor Hall at the social register, and got the
information, that he was dead in spring 1973.
Are the Podmaniczky Aszod´s close related to the
nobilityfamily of that same name.
I have also a question of the latter branch,
Baron Podmaniczky who until WWII lived at his estate
TOMPA, near the town Kelebia in southern hungary, I´ve
been told that the estate was bombed during the war.
Do you have any idea if there is living persons of that
branch of the family ? They also bred horses, and some
horses were exported to Sweden in 1936.
I´m living partly in Denmark, and in England.
sincerely
Preben Pedersen |
