| Val: Rekeny | | My gfather Rekeny (Rekken) was born in Nagylak, Csanad in 1883 (Austria-Hungary at that time). He had a family and 2 children there. During the WW1 went to war and was captured by Soviets and sent to Siberia to exile where later married to a Russian woman (my Gmother), they had 3 children. In 1938 they were both arrested by Soviets and killed as enimies, children placed into orphanage. It's the only information I have about him. I even not sure if his first name was Janos, Joseph, Ian or Ion.? In Siberia they called him Ivan. His dad's name might be Anton. If he left 2 children in Hungary before WW1, they might thought that he was killed and never knew that he was alive till 1938. If you have any information please write. |
