	plafleur: Sipka Origins I am looking for a Josef (Joseph) Sipka who was married to Julia Schmitt. They were both born in 1871 and were married in 1898. Their Ellis Island record says they immigrated to the US on November 24, 1901 with their 1 year old son Lajos (Leo). After going through Ellis Island they went to Chicago, Illinois and had 3 more sons. Their Ellis Island records says they were from Treboszto, Hungary. I have no clue where this town is, I would think somewhere near Germany since Schmitt is German and Julia's native tongue was German. Anyone with any help on either of these individuals would greatly appreciated. 	kezdi: Re: Sipka Origins Dear plafleur, Treboszto -a.k.a. Kistorboszló-, Turoc County, of course was in Hungary until 1920, after that in Czechoslovakia, today in Slovakia and called Trebostovo. Hungary was not unlike the US, a big immigrant country, ethnic Germans lived in Hungary through the history, some from the 13th century.
