Sorescu,
You saw these names? Both are from Transylvania, which is part of Romania now, since 1920. Sorescu looks Romanian, the name ending *cu* is a very common Romanian name creating suffix, like -sky, or -son in other languages. At the second name, -ku conforms to Hung. grammar, the root Sores also looks Romanian, there's a slight chance that at one time could had been Hung., but rather than guess you should also post to Romanian genealogy forums.

fericzobor: Re: Question
Of course Sorescu is a pure Romanian name, and is not confined to Transylvania.
The presence of this name on the Radix Forum list is not due to the fact that it would be a Hungarian name, but with the fact that this surname is attested in the historical Hungary, born of course by people of Romanian ethnicity.

fericzobor: Re: Question
The etymology of the surname "Sorescu" is very transparent for any Romanian speaking person. It is derived from "Soare" = "sun" the suffix -escu, typical for derivate Romanian surnames. According to the phonetic rules of the Romanian language, the diphthong "oa" occurs only in in stressed position, being reduced to "o" in unstressed position, and in "Sorescu", like in all names ending in "-escu", the stress is on the "e" of the suffix. Thus: Soare -escu > Sor(e)-escu > Sor-escu. "Soare" was originally used as a nickname, becaming later a surname, both in the forms "Soare" and "Sorescu". The surname in discussion was born, under others, by a renowned Romanian poet, Marin Sorescu (1936-1996). He was born in southern Romania (Dolj county), i.e. outside Transylvania. Attached is a picture of the poet Marin Sorescu.
