	xenophanis: Süveges - Mariska I'm looking for the family tree of the Süveges and Mariska family. My grandmother was a born Süveges and her father came from Hungary to Croatia where they lived in a small village in Slavonia (Djakovacka Satnica). The sister of her father married into the Mariska family and they moved to USA. Have anybody some relevant informations about the family or the name itself. 	Zlatica : Re: Süveges - Mariska Not related in any way to the above mentioned surnames. Just helping out. 41 SUVEGESs and 35 MARISKAs did pass thru Ellis Island port to America. You need to locate a name of a town in order to proceed with the research. The LDS-Mormons (Family History Center) have filmed church records of several European countries but you need to know the name of a town and religious orientation of your ancestor to order the films. www.bmi.net/jjaso to familiarize yourself with church wording. I'm not sure who grampa's brothers were, but possibly we are related? my maiden name was suveges. i've been working on both my and my husband's family trees, and I'll have to check to see which city where G&G were born.
