TheWolfCub: I'm looking for my family
Hi, my name is Robert Emil Vilcsek Linden. I'm the son of Emil Vilcsek Linden (formally Emil Vilcsek from Budapest). My father came to England during/shortly after the uprising. In 1968 I resulted from my father's marriage to Dora Lindley.

I know that my father had two sisters: Kati, who I think is still alive, another sister (not sure of the spelling but sounds like Zusi), who died quite some time ago.

My father was married before leaving Hungary and had a daughter called Anna.

I'd be keen to make contact with any of my family in Hungary.

I'd also be very pleased to learn more about my family name. I've spent much time searching the internet, and about the only thing I can find is that Vilcsek seems to have Czech origins, and possibly means "Wolf Cub" / "Small Wolf"

Zlatica : Re: I'm looking for my family
TheWolfCub,

Yes, VLC^EK, VILC^EK would have Czech/Slovak origins and meaning little wolf. vlk - wolf
Both spellings show up in Slovak Republic's phone book.
www.zoznamst.sk type a 0(zero) in area code to get all the listings for the surname.
In Polish the surname would be Wilczek.
Try Hungary's phone site as there is VILCSEK in Budapest's phone book. www.magyartelekom.hu/fooldal.vm One of them bound to be related to you.
