de Szalay
I am looking for relatives of my father, Karoly Welwart or Velvart, originating from Blazs (Balasfalva, Erdely). His father was Moritz Welwart married to Carola Szinberger. He had 2 brothers, Bela (who went to Chile) and Willi who stayed in Romania and 4 sisters. One sister went to Israel. My father and family lived in Cairo, Egypt. I would be very happy to find any relatives or connection.
Manci Szalay nee Velvart.

Alisa Koch: Welwart
My great great grandfather's name was Moritz Welwart, but he was from Zayugrocz (Uhrovec, Slovakia) and married Fanni (Franzikska Welwart) in Misslitz (Miroslav, Moravia near Bruno). They then migrated to Vienna, Austria around 1869. I don't know if we are related but thought I'd inquire. His grave is in Vienna and he died July 25, 1902.

Dear Alisa,
I remember hearing that one cousin of my great grandfather settled in Vienna. As far as I remember the family had something to do with bicycle manafacture. We lived in Egypt during the 2nd world war, so we lost contact with the family, and after the war we heard from one uncle who survived the holocaust but we could not correspond because Romania was by then communist.
One aunt went to Israel but again we could not write because the Egypt Israel war. Now I live in England married to a Hungarian. One of my father's sisters lived in Zagreb but we lost touch.
Maybe you could let me know more about your great great grandfather who lived and died in Austria.
Thank you for contacting me.
